The late Marvin Gaye’s sensual 70s hit “Got To Give It Up” was overtly purloined by Robin Thicke for his 2013 smash hit “Blurred Lines.”

Robin Thicke also sued the music rights owner of some tunes by Funkadelic because of similarities to Blurred Lines but The Hollywood Reporter offered this update two days after the lawsuit was filed:
—George Clinton, who once led Funkadelic and has feuded with Bridgeport and its leader over the years, tweets, “No sample of #Funkadelic’s ‘Sexy Ways’ in @robinthicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ – yet Armen Boladian thinks so? We support @robinthicke @Pharrell!”
