Dear Mr. Meiners,

This is an update to your interview with our daughter-in-law, Jennifer Alderman, at the Kentucky Oaks 2013 Survivor’s Parade only a few short weeks ago. She is the pretty young mother from Carmel, Indiana. She looked a picture of health at the time but cancer is an ugly enemy without remorse.

The cancer is back with a vengeance in both lungs, her rib cage and various lymph nodes. She started chemo this morning. Yesterday morning they took two liters of fluid from her lungs before she saw the Indiana University oncologist in the afternoon. We are all devastated but hold out hope.

I am contacting everyone for prayers and thought of you because of the picture our son took of you and Jennifer (see below). I thought you might remember her and hoped you might put out a prayer call for her. If that is not possible, please include her in your own prayers. She is quite a fitness/sports enthusiast and has been in three triathlons prior to children and cancer. Hopefully that background will help gird her in this battle. — Thank you, Anne Goin
