“Why should we be studying (in school) for a future that will soon be no more?” – Greta Thunberg encouraging youths to skip school on Fridays to protest climate change outside their local government buildings

Climate activist Greta Thunberg is the latest global media darling. Good for her. The human race needs people from each generation who will further the cause of protecting the earth.

Greta’s climate message is spot on except for the demonization of prior generations. She is mistaken to think that today’s youth are the first young people to take up the cause of environmental activism.

“Save the planet” has been a cause celebre for at least 50 years. There is literally nothing new under the sun, just the ferocity with which it is presented.
