Former University of Louisville basketball player Chris Jones has been charged with rape and sodomy alleged by two different women, ages 19 and 20. One of the women is a University of Louisville student and the other is an online student of Western Kentucky University.
The alleged incidents occurred late Saturday night in the Cardinal Towne Apartments, a privately run student housing facility.
Two other men, Tyvon J. Walker and Jalen Tilford, were also charged with rape. Tilford was also charged with sodomy.
All three men pleaded not guilty. Jones’ next court appearance is scheduled for March 9. Judge Sheila Collins assigned Jones to home incarceration in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
The University of Louisville released a statement that indicated that Jones was released from the team on February 22 over a curfew violation and before complete details were known regarding the alleged criminal activity that occurred hours earlier late Saturday night.
