Juries love Norm Pattis, a smooth talking man with a ponytail. He’s been defending Fotis Dulos, a man accused of wrongdoing in the disappearance of his wife Jennifer.

There’s a girlfriend. Debt. Marital discord. Jennifer’s expressed fears to her friends. It doesn’t look good for Fotis. Mother-of-five Jennifer’s body has never been found. Fotis moved on with a new woman and can’t understand how his wife just vanished out of thin air.

Fotis and his girlfriend were both arrested. Fotis eventually tried to kill himself in his garage with his car engine running. He died several days later in the hospital where attorney Pettis says media predators kept trying to sneak into his room.

The ponytail lawyer broke the news that Fotis is dead, and Pattis has filed a motion asking the state of Connecticut to “clear his name.”

As to those who think Dulos killed himself out of “a consciousness of guilt,” ponytailed Pattis says “it was more a conscious overborne with the weight of a world that was too busy to listen and that wanted a story more than it wanted the truth.”

Fotis is gone. Pettis says the public thirst for a salacious story is what killed him.
