My wife Mary and I had a funny chat with an inebriated Andre McGee at Unbridled Eve a decade ago. Now, of course, we can only wonder what sort of seedy things were going on with McGee and the University of Louisville Cardinals that he was supposed to protect. It's no wonder Andre needed to get tipsy. He was likely hiding lots of secrets. Rick Pitino is now coaching in Greece. The University of Louisville basketball program is slowly crawling out of a scandalous mess that involved Pitino's personal missteps, recruits confirming that strippers were hired by former UofL player McGee to "entertain" them on visits, and adidas-related payments to the family of recruit Brian Bowen. The Sunday, October 8th Courier Journal will blast out a series of pieces all surrounding the money flow at the University of Louisville, most of which has gone to a few prominent leaders even as athletics shows an annual net loss. Here's Tom Jurich's earnings sheet for 2016: With all of the reverberating tremors from the U of L's various scandals, perhaps the most eye-opening revelation is just how much money was being sopped up by Tom Jurich, Rick Pitino, former president James Ramsey, and their associates. University of Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino broke his silence on the sex scandal involving recruits and prostitutes meeting in the school dorm named after his late brother-in-law. He's angry about media coverage given to an author whose storyline has been shown to have credibility issues. Pitino also says that "one person" (former assistant Andre McGee) probably did arrange some trysts and the head coach is baffled by the violations. WDRB columnist Rick Bozich defended his previous columns that Pitino referenced above. Here is part two with Pitino. January 1, 2016 Two months ago after Rick Pitino appeared in a tense interview on my radio show, I appeared on ESPN's Outside the Lines in defense of Pitino, saying
2 bits, 4 bits, 6 bits a hooker
Surely you have heard that the University of Louisville basketball program is mired in an alleged sex scandal. A prostitute claims that she was paid by team staff member Andre McGee to provide female escorts for players, recruits, and sometimes the fathers of recruits. If true, and if the prostitute's claims that her own underage daughters were sometimes involved, massive federal charges related to sex trafficking on a public university campus would send the sports world into a Penn State Sandusky fervor and forever stain the careers of many prominent University of Louisville leaders. Early speculation is that head coach Rick Pitino will keep his job. (I've known Pitino for 25 years and my best guess is that he
