MEDIA MALPRACTICE: The show is 60 Minutes but the narrative driven editing is built for 16 seconds
This is wild. Watch Ron DeSantis’s full answer on Publix, Walgreen’s and CVS vaccine distribution and look at the edited cut 60 Minutes used: pic.twitter.com/FqTRgOZS9Z — Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) April 5, 2021 This mashup of what 60 Minutes aired compared to the full context of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' reply clearly illuminates why so many Americans distrust media. The reporter is pushing a pay-for-play conspiracy involving the Republican governor but his timeline of which companies were given COVID vaccine options dismantles CBS reporter Sharyn Alfonsi's narrative. But she edited it to tell the story from her "objective" perch. Even some prominent Democrats slammed the 60 Minutes story. CBS said it edited the governor's comments down to the poignant words that answered the reporter's question. Hmm. The
Smother Brother: they can’t be serious about triple masking
The public has been on an information roller coaster since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. First...just the old people are in danger. Then it was that people with symptoms should wear a mask. Then we needed a national mask wearing mandate. Now it's two masks to prevent exposure to coronavirus. And maybe a third booster shot will become necessary. There is even talk about the effectiveness of THREE masks! THREE! Isn't that like wearing Saran wrap over your mouth and nose and trying to access oxygen? Here's the full CNBC report from former Fox News host Shep Smith and former CBS/MSNBC/NBC correspondent and host Contessa Brewer about the greatness of not just double-masking, but triple-masking. h/t: @Justin_Hart pic.twitter.com/DgOhHuzUS5 — Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) January 27,

“America’s most-watched network” CBS slashes news staff…again
With the coronavirus pandemic pressuring all media companies to tighten belts over lost advertising revenue, CBS News has applied another layer of job cuts. There have been multiple cuts at CBS for months, much of it tied to the network's merger with Viacom. The pandemic adds another layer of withered finances. The best guess is that about 10% of the news department was snipped. Other departments including sports, entertainment, and production are also affected. Between 300 and 400 jobs are being slashed. CBS News president Susan Zirinsky released hazy details during an electronic meeting with employees. Although CBS claims to be America's #1 rated network, it's a reference to prime time programs. John Schnatter is the burn mark that will never go away until he drops the Papa
American pizza sales during the global pandemic have remained stronger than most other restaurant ventures. As the economy tanks, small business owners including pizza chain franchisees are hanging on for survival. Papa John's franchisees have been through a living hell the past several years after the company's founder repeatedly humiliated the brand with racist, caustic, thoughtless comments. "Papa John" Schnatter was prominently featured in the pizza company's commercials so his downfall affected sales. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Papa John's pizza has clawed back to respectability by focusing on human diversity, kindness, humility, and a sharper TV commercial focus on the actual pizza instead of the now dethroned Papa. The problem for tens of thousands of Papa John's franchisees, managers, and employees is
