It’s not hunting season but Governor Matt Bevin came loaded for bear
Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin texted me moments before a planned phone interview today to suggest that he drop by the studio in person. Perfect. A face-to-face interview nearly always produces more in-depth analysis of current events. We opened with inside baseball chatter about Air Force One and President Trump's attention to details. We closed with topics like religion, patriotism, and child rearing. It was those 22 minutes in the middle that were ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ณ ๐ป @GovMattBevin on how @KYGOP spends Trump visit money, throws shade at Crazy Bernie, Lil' Andy, Stumbo, Heather, @KyDems opioid settlement money, looks to 2nd term with @GOP AG @djaycameron ๐๏ธ AUDIO https://t.co/2IRknOjqxi #teachers #religion #patriotism #childrearing pic.twitter.com/zJJJTXcI82— Terry Meiners (@terrymeiners) August 26, 2019 Governor Bevin dismantled his opponent
Shocker! Media misdirection goes uncorrected.
Our media business makes mistakes. That's cool. Humans make mistakes. Here's Saturday night's WHAS11 report of a Republican governor interacting with Democrat volunteers. Anchor Lisa Hutson reads claims from the Democrat Party that Governor Matt Bevin is harassing the Democrats but she doesn't have any facts about what actually happened. Hutson's report mirrors accounts from other media outlets, and they are all wrong. No one fact checked the story, they just repeated the misleading claims of the Facebook post. News consumers are given the false impression that there is conflict when it actually the complete opposite. I am impressed with these two Democrats who stood up against the media and social media fictional posts by people who weren't even there. We may not

The protest was led by Black Lives Matter activist Chanelle Helms who screams the f-word throughout the two-hour late evening protest. Helms is known for her screed urging white people to give up their homes to black families as a form of reparation for slavery. Mayor Fischer responded to Governor Bevin the next morning

Mitch McConnell on Bevin’s tight primary win, impeachment value for GOP, Trump vs Pelosi, and vaping teens
After a surprisingly close primary win for Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin, I asked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell if he would offer support for Bevin's re-election in the November general election. McConnell and Bevin have a complicated relationship stemming back to Bevin's campaign to unseat McConnell in 2014. The McConnell team labeled their opponent Bailout Bevin, calling him a con man and liar. Today on WHAS Radio, Senator McConnell promised to fully support Bevin's re-election. Kentucky's senior senator also touted attorney general candidate Daniel Cameron, a former McConnell staffer. KNOCK THESE CITIES DOWN and build all new carbon neutral buildings, unless of course, people are unwilling to work. They need financial parity with everyone else. Pay the unwilling! I am one of 14 children born to Norma & Mel Meiners. Mom delivered 15 babies over a span of nineteen years. Baby Dennis died several weeks after his birth in the mid-50s. That loss of life spun my parents into an emotional freefall. Nonetheless, they went on to accept the blessing of 12 more children. I was the fifth (technically sixth) child born to Norma and Mel and they never stopped loving, encouraging, and leading all of us. Both of them have been gone for over a decade. The one mission that their Catholic faith led them to pursue above all else was the protection of life. My parents marched every year on January 22, my birthday
