Mariah Carey was three hours late to record her performance for NBC's Rockefeller Center Christmas special on the evening of December 2, 2014. Then she apparently scrapped plans to record her performance altogether, opting to sing on live TV the next night. A live performance prevents post production clean up of any glitches or chances to "sweeten" wobbly audio. Click the video to hear the isolated vocal track from the pop queen's performance. The reviews are not flattering. Carey later apologized on Twitter.

Great Ladies Day Live
I love my Great Day Live teammates. Left to right, Laura Rogers, me, Rachel Platt, and Angie Fenton are all strong women with delightfully humorous personalities. Each one is a treasure in my life. Our weekday morning magazine show has been a joyous ride for the past three years. No changes are expected as we roll into our fourth year. Our team photo from August 22, 2012 A comparison from today to our launch photos from August 2011 And just for fun, enjoy this morning's opening segment where we were not prepared for the start of the show.
Bluegrass Battle in the NCAA Sweet 16: #Twinning vs #Trezzin
Sports talk hosts Matt Jones from Kentucky Sports Radio and Afternoon Underdog Tony Vanetti launched the rivalry week smack talk on WHAS-11's Great Day Live. Hillbillies vs Drunks
Great Day Naive
Rachel Platt and I occasionally finish an interview segment on our morning TV show Great Day Live and wonder "Did we just get punked?" It happens.
She said “Yes!”
It was fun having a marriage proposal on live TV. Watch these two young people become engaged on Great Day Live. And if Valentine's Day is awful for you, watch the Michael Jackson or Sinead O'Connor videos to feel your vibe.
Macho Sochi
Just days before the start of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, NBC's Saturday Night Live parodied Russia'a anti-gay political structure by offering Heterosexual Figure Skating. Pretty hilarious editorializing, and Papa John's wound up with an inadvertent ad campaign in the show's opening sketch. More on this episode of SNL starring Jonah Hill is here. The opening monologue shown below features a cameo by Leonardo DiCaprio. The oddest offering? A scene involving sensitive hit men.
It’s da shuuuuuuuzzzzzzz, baby!
At 11 a.m. on January 15, 2014, I realized that I'd already been to Mass and then hosted a live TV show wearing two different styles of shoes. Not one person mentioned my mismatch. Am I so cray cray now that no one even notices an oddity of this level? Time to hire a Man Friday. You'll note in the photo that I also lost a tassel. You can see the different shoes in this TV segment. I never caught it until I went home to change. Here's some video from Great Day Live where you can see my mismatched shoes.
Artie Dean Harris & Bourbontown
One of Kentucky's favorite country bands is Artie Dean Harris & Bourbontown, a collection of great players from various area bands. Here's their appearance on WHAS-TV's Great Day Live on November 8, 2013
