People who thrive on their identity as Blue Democrats and Red Republicans hate each other in today’s acerbic political arena. No one seems to be able to converse without the subject devolving into politics. Then – POOF! – people move back to their comfortable echo chambers.
The film Irresistible is a masterful takedown of our cultural logjam.
It’s a brilliant piece of film. Amazingly, liberal Jon Stewart produced a feature length movie that does not take sides. Instead, it shows the equal distribution of blame for the political lunacy that strangles discourse in America today.
Thomas Sowell is right, both politically and philosophically. Until someone decides to listen instead of talking, the chasm will only widen.
