Australian fires started 2020. Then came the threat of nuclear war with Iran. Chinese military jets have been buzzing American warships. Oh, and then there’s that little COVID-19 pandemic with an as yet uncertain outcome.
Next year could be even stranger when the 17 year cycle for cicadas delivers billions of the buzzing bug-eyed pests in a Biblical plague of dead baby beastly bodies.
I made the most of it two cycles ago when Sammy the Cicada and I spent a fabulous few hours together.
2020 is all about isolation. 2021 will be a noisy, crowded infestation.
Pick your poison. It’s going to be a bumpy decade.
