Yes he is your President

“The most important office in our democracy: citizen.” – Barack Obama’s eloquent farewell speech, January 10, 2017

Hey Meryl Streep. Sometimes your team wins. Sometimes your team loses.

Suck it up, buttercup. A love of football and/or mixed martial arts does not define anyone’s politics. America is a melting pot of all kinds of personal interests not necessarily aligned with any political philosophy.

Don’t blame your team’s losing strategy on the other team. Sometimes you’re simply overmatched. Millions of people who voted for Barack Obama in 2008 then again in 2012 decided to try a different strategy in 2016. See: Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania

donald trump

Donald J. Trump is about to be inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States. #NotMyPresident is #NotAnOption

Trump’s relationship with the media is hilarious. At his January 11, 2017 press conference, Trump fired back at Buzzfeed, CNN, and other news outlets for disseminating “fake news” like the unsubstantiated dossier chronicling bizarre behavior in Russia. CNN reporter Jim Acosta was smacked down for butting into another reporter’s chance to ask a question. Acosta asked: “Since you are attacking us, can you give us a question?”

Trump: “I’m not going to give you a question. You are fake news.”

Trump’s smackdown a largely liberal media complex is unprecedented. Liberals have always soaked up slanted news as “objective” even when obvious bias exists. The two best pieces I’ve read on the subject of Liberals detached from reality are right here.

Meryl Streep’s sanctimonious condescension (you lowlife football fans don’t understand the ART of reading off cue cards!) took an unfortunate turn when others pointed to Hollywood’s hypocrisy on casting people with disabilities. Oops!

Bottom line: Trump is the President of the United States for all of us. Cheer for America. Work for your candidate to win in 2020. Separating us by whether we like football, ballet, or politics does a disservice to America’s strength through diversity. There are 330,000,000+ people in the U.S. and each brings her/his own unique vision into everything they do. We are not one mindset yet we are each but one vote.
