Many of Wayne’s colleagues joined me today on 840WHAS to reflect on their time working with Louisville’s energetic morning man.

WHAS11 also profiled Perkey’s phenomenal broadcast career of radio, television, and philanthropic work.
Here is the radio interview I conducted with Wayne just a little more than a month ago. He was delighted to tell me that he had reconciled with his wife. He spent much of his time in recent months caring for her during her COVID challenges.
God Rest the Soul of Louisville’s greatest morning radio star Wayne Perkey. ๐
Thanks for your leadership, benevolence, and encouragement to all of us at @840WHAS & @WHAS11

#WHAS100 ๐ Denny Nugent took over programming @840WHAS in 1983 and freshened its sound, adding Kim Scott, Doug McElvein, Liz Curtis, put Van Vance on Sportstalk, Joe Donovan on late night, and hired me “but it took some selling!”
