After show pony lawyer Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel began crowing that his client Kim Davis had a private audience with Pope Francis, skepticism ensued. The Southern Poverty Law Center now lists Staver's firm as a hate group. Davis is the Rowan County clerk who refuses to acknowledge the U.S. Supreme Court ruling allowing for same sex marriage. Her supporters say that the media is needlessly bashing her by prolonging the story. Every day brings a new chapter. Davis told ABC News โJust knowing the pope is on track with what weโre doing and agreeing, you know, kind of validates everything.โ But there was no agreement or validation. Promoting her latest book with the help of the media, Sarah Palin was asked for her impression of Pope Francis. Without having read Pope Francis' perspective on various issues, Palin blamed the media for distortion of the Pope's "Liberal" messages. After being roundly mocked as illustrated above, Palin used social media to apologize. In a wholly different uproar, MSNBC's Martin Bashir apologized to Sarah Palin after he vulgarly lambasted her comparison of the national debt with slavery. No word on whether the apology was accepted.
