Now that they're White House partners, it's fascinating to watch a segment of the 2020 presidential debate among Democrats. First there was Kamala Harris ripping into Joe Biden's support of the racially oppressive 1990s Crime Bill. Joe lobbed some heat back at her and then candidate Tulsi Gabbard absolutely shredded Harris for her racially biased strategies as California attorney general. Tulsi has been pushed to the sidelines and now President Joe Biden and Madam Vice President Kamala Harris are all good. For now. I spoke with former Obama/Biden White House official Jerry Abramson about the mended relationship between the president and vice president. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris get the keys to the White House
Joseph R. Biden, a former vice president and senator, was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States at 11:49 a.m. President Biden immediately signed multiple executive orders reversing policies (immigration, travel bans, climate action) put into place by his predecessor President Donald Trump. Before the Bidens officially entered the White House as the new First Couple, there was a brief walk down Pennsylvania Avenue. Attendance was extremely limited due to the coronavirus pandemic. The new Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris also walked the route. Lady Gaga won the day on the entertainment front. Her rendition of The Star Spangled Banner was magnificent. Three former presidents attended the inauguration ceremony. An additional event brought them together with President Biden and
Who’s riding shotgun next to Joe Biden? Is it AOC or Pelosi?

Defund The Police. Umm, how would that work?
Here's the thought process emerging from people who believe that social workers should handle the majority of police work. Read the thread. But so long as weโre talking about what the โdefund the policeโ movement could mean in practice โ in addition to cutting budgets โ here are some ideas.— David Menschel (@davidminpdx) June 7, 2020 And, of course, don't let your racist privilege limit criminal opportunities for a marginalized perpetrator. NBC debate mods sharpened their skills for the second debate as kooky author rises above the fray
On the 2nd night of the Democrat debates in Miami, candidates all talked over each other trying to take command of the stage. In the following radio monologue, I predicted that none of the NBC anchors would hammer any Democrat the way Megyn Kelly crushed Donald Trump out of the gate in the 2015 Republican debate on Fox News. I stand corrected. Megyn's crushing of Trump is still in a league of its own, but Democrat-friendly NBC moderators did move beyond their usual fawning positions. I was impressed by Rachel Maddow asking Mayor Pete Buttigieg about South Bend's police racial problems. Buttigieg is the gay icon in this race and Maddow is a lesbian. She's not going easy
