Kentucky attorney general Andy Beshear shocked the political world with a razor thin upset of incumbent Governor Matt Bevin in an election that saw all other Republicans win big. Beshear's decision to stick to healthcare and jobs as main topics overwhelmed Bevin's "I'm buddies with Trump" strategy. There were almost 500,000 more voters in 2019 when compared to Bevin's victory in the 2015 election. Incoming Republican attorney general Daniel Cameron has already stated that he would take the office back to its intended purpose of law enforcement. Beshear was criticized for filing a slew of lawsuits intended to slow down Bevin's initiatives. Surprisingly, President Donald Trump's raucous Lexington rally on election eve did not close a suspected wide polling gap hampering Bevin. Of

A gamble that didn’t pay off for Matt Bevin
In last night's debate, Matt Bevin tried to say with absolute certainty that he never made his false and erratic claim that someone commits suicide in a casino every night.@MattBevin, you asked for the tape, so we found it for you. pic.twitter.com/SUqHmL9uWW— Andy Beshear (@AndyBeshearKY) October 27, 2019 Note to self: never dare someone to produce a tape if there is even the remotest possibility that the tape exists. Governor Matt Bevin denied ever saying that a gambler commits suicide every day in an American casino. It was a huge story after Bevin said it on a Cadiz radio station on July 31, 2019. In last night's gubernatorial debate, attorney general Andy Beshear made note of Bevin's casino suicide claim and
It’s not hunting season but Governor Matt Bevin came loaded for bear
Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin texted me moments before a planned phone interview today to suggest that he drop by the studio in person. Perfect. A face-to-face interview nearly always produces more in-depth analysis of current events. We opened with inside baseball chatter about Air Force One and President Trump's attention to details. We closed with topics like religion, patriotism, and child rearing. It was those 22 minutes in the middle that were 🔥🔥🔥😳 📻 @GovMattBevin on how @KYGOP spends Trump visit money, throws shade at Crazy Bernie, Lil' Andy, Stumbo, Heather, @KyDems opioid settlement money, looks to 2nd term with @GOP AG @djaycameron 🎙️ AUDIO https://t.co/2IRknOjqxi #teachers #religion #patriotism #childrearing pic.twitter.com/zJJJTXcI82— Terry Meiners (@terrymeiners) August 26, 2019 Governor Bevin dismantled his opponent
Trump endorses Daniel Cameron for Kentucky attorney general, Dems livid over former GOP spox tweeting back at Stumbo’s daughter

Cameron and I talked on the radio today about 30 minutes after Trump tweeted his endorsement news that was embargoed until today's tweet was posted. ....He is tough on Crime, Strong on Borders, and will fight for our Second Amendment. Daniel will never let you down. He has my Full and Complete Endorsement!— Donald J. Trump

“You bet I’m running” – Gov. Matt Bevin tees up his re-election battle with Andy Beshear, et al
Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin finally burst the bubble by declaring that he will indeed run for reelection. I've asked him more than 10 times in radio interviews if he would re-up to solidify Republican party plans for 2019. His response was that he would not let "the people across the aisle" dictate his schedule. At last night's Lincoln Dinner in Lexington, the news spilled across all of the aisles. Governor Bevin wants to stay in office for a second term. "Buckle up, because the next five years are going to be something to watch." At the @KYGOP Lincoln Dinner in Lexington, @GovMattBevin announced his intention to run for re-election in 2019. pic.twitter.com/zqnjGGEufk— Garrett Wymer (@GarrettWKYT) August 26, 2018 There's
