Welcome to interview school! I am fortunate enough to interview a great many community leaders, change agents, politicians, celebrities, and athletes. People frequently ask me about my casual interviewing techniques and why I don't crush my subjects. First, I can only be me. My personality dictates that I speak to guests on the air the exact same way that I would in a store, on the sidewalk, or in my home. More importantly, I feel that a quality interview involves listening to the guest and not making myself a part of the narrative. The guest is the star. Let's look at some variance in interview segments by Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo from CNN. This video is a compelling takedown of Black Lives Matter

Don on Don and his credulous boomer rubes
Damn, Don. pic.twitter.com/7WJXuV8tn4— Timothy Burke (@bubbaprog) May 4, 2020 Here's another #FeelTheBern from Don Lemon on CNN. It follows comments by President Donald Trump blaming his predecessor President Barack Obama for feckless leadership during a smaller pandemic 12 years ago. Lemon, who is black and gay, throws every fireball he can at the sitting president. 🔥 Donald Trump usually reacts to Lemon's media slams. This one is from January following Don Lemon's CNN guests mocking Trump fans as "credulous boomer rubes" with thick southern accents who can't read maps or string together complete sentences. Don Lemon, the dumbest man on television (with terrible ratings!). https://t.co/iQXCc7lvCt— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 28, 2020 Meanwhile, Trump's campaign released a new ad today highlighting the
At least Hillary and Barack tweeted the word Easter, CNN reporter lances Trump with ham-handed “small stuff” reference after hundreds are killed
With approximately 300 Christians killed and 500 more wounded in Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama struggled to find the right word to describe the victims. Some of the victims were surely non-Christian but the targets were Catholic churches and hotels that cater to western tourists. So, yes, mostly Christians. It was one of the most severe mass casualty terrorist attack series since 9/11. At least twenty four people were arrested following the bombings. What flavor of terrorists brought these horrors? Mum's the word by many media outlets. Labeling the perpetrators is tricky business in an ultra-sensitive news environment where accusations against the "marginalized" are unwelcome. Only a few media references about the
Jeremy Kappell misspoke and lost his job. This meteorologist refuses to fade into the sunset.
📻 Here's meteorologist Jeremy Kappell on his lawsuit vs Rochester's WHEC, the cruel actions of Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren & gutless TV general manager Dick Reingold, support from Al Roker, Don Lemon, Craig Melvin, and Rochester viewers, other weather people mispronouncing MLK without a beatdown, and how public shaming strengthened Jeremy's family & faith 🎙️ #bullies #media DETAILS on the Kappell website. Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren demanded Jeremy Kappell's firing without ever speaking to him or communicating with him in any capacity. Mayor Warren understands forgiveness as she is married to a man who drove the getaway car in a jewelry store robbery 20 years ago. She also defended a Rochester council member accused of embezzling tens of thousands of dollars,
FAKE VIEWS – Lemon drop kicked by stats or did Horowitz lose his wits?
People watch the same interview and see opposite outcomes. It's the entire blue dress/black dress quandary. Is CNN's Don Lemon suffering from Stockholm Syndrome? In the above video, Lemon doesn't know how to handle filmmaker Ami Horowitz delivering stats on Sweden's crime statistics tied to immigrants. Lemon cites stats on Sweden compiled by the U.S. State Department. In the video below, others interpret Lemon pushing Horowitz into a corner. Isn't fake news the BEST!
