Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin visited my WHAS Radio studio yesterday to discuss multiple allegations of wrongdoing by controversial conservative state representative Dan Johnson. The "pope" of Heart of Fire Church was accused of molesting a 17-year-old parishioner in 2012. Johnson met with media earlier in the day. Governor Bevin and I discussed his situation at length in this interview. About 24 hours later, Johnson would take his own life by shooting himself in the head in Bullitt County. Pastor Dan Johnson drove to a remote area and killed himself the next day after posting on Facebook that he was innocent. Jessica Green reacts to the retention of Dan Johnson on Metro Council
Metro Councilwoman Jessica Green joined me on 840WHAS to vent about her colleagues voting to retain Dan Johnson. We also touched on racial disparity involving taxpayers covering Johnson's legal fees but not the fees accrued by two African American council members in previous trials. Brain pain may explain Dan’s drama
The whack-a-mole process between the Louisville Metro Council and its longest-serving member is off the radar for now. Last month, council colleagues told Dan Johnson to resign his seat or they'd remove him. Alleged sexual harassment is the elephant in the room. Democrats typically refuse to acknowledge elephants so maybe this one will fade away without further action. No one is talking about whether the mayor or five council members will launch court proceedings to remove the beleaguered official. Dan says they won't. Councilman Johnson returned to my radio studio on August 1st, the deadline imposed by his peers. Bottom line: he's not leaving...at least without a costly legal battle. Steely Dan Johnson: I won’t quit – Metro Council: Yes you will
Beleaguered Louisville Metro Councilman Dan Johnson (D-21) has been asked to resign by his Democrat colleagues. He has until August 1st to resign or they say they will procedurally eject him from office. Johnson was on my WHAS radio show yesterday where he maintained his innocence in multiple sexual harassment allegations made by female government workers. Johnson said that he doesn't understand why this story is still reverberating one month after a councilwoman lodged a complaint against him. When I asked Johnson if he will resign his office, he replied "No...I was elected by the 21st district to serve them for four years and I will do that until my time is up."
