This is wild. Watch Ron DeSantis’s full answer on Publix, Walgreen’s and CVS vaccine distribution and look at the edited cut 60 Minutes used: pic.twitter.com/FqTRgOZS9Z — Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) April 5, 2021 This mashup of what 60 Minutes aired compared to the full context of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' reply clearly illuminates why so many Americans distrust media. The reporter is pushing a pay-for-play conspiracy involving the Republican governor but his timeline of which companies were given COVID vaccine options dismantles CBS reporter Sharyn Alfonsi's narrative. But she edited it to tell the story from her "objective" perch. Even some prominent Democrats slammed the 60 Minutes story. CBS said it edited the governor's comments down to the poignant words that answered the reporter's question. Hmm. The

“America’s most-watched network” CBS slashes news staff…again
With the coronavirus pandemic pressuring all media companies to tighten belts over lost advertising revenue, CBS News has applied another layer of job cuts. There have been multiple cuts at CBS for months, much of it tied to the network's merger with Viacom. The pandemic adds another layer of withered finances. The best guess is that about 10% of the news department was snipped. Other departments including sports, entertainment, and production are also affected. Between 300 and 400 jobs are being slashed. CBS News president Susan Zirinsky released hazy details during an electronic meeting with employees. Although CBS claims to be America's #1 rated network, it's a reference to prime time programs. The flagship CBS Evening News and breakfast show CBS This Morning
The latest Bernie Brawl left no marks as Dems march on toward Super Tuesday
The CBS News Democrat Debate in South Carolina got out of control early with all 7 candidates shouting over each other. Hosts Norah O'Donnell and Gayle King eventually gained control of the cacophony of voices trying to punch up at delegate leader Bernie Sanders, the Democrat socialist who has great momentum. For six of the candidates, their primary goal is to hit a home run to slow Bernie's roll. I saw no such feat accomplished. The Bern is still bulldozing his way toward the Democrat nomination to challenge Donald Trump in November. Former advisor to President Bill Clinton and occasional TV pundit James Carville delivered an insightful post-debate review for MSNBC. Here's frontrunner Bernie Sanders in the Spin Room breaking down his performance
When the boss is a creeper, don’t complain about the company creepers
CBS News veteran Scott Pelley recently told CNN that he lost his CBS Evening News anchor position by complaining to management about his hostile work environment. Pelley said it was hostile for women and men so he went all the way to lecherous network chairman Les Moonves with his complaints. At the next contract renewal point, Pelley's services were no longer needed. He still reports for the CBS news magazine 60 Minutes.
UPS, FedEx, and other cargo delivery companies hear footsteps from Amazon
With its massive package sorting hub facilities around Louisville International Airport, United Parcel Service is one of Kentucky's largest employers. About 11,000 people work for UPS in the Louisville area. With the burgeoning growth of Amazon's Prime Air fleet, much of which is directed toward Northern Kentucky's Cincinnati airport, the next few years could could create incredible headwinds for UPS, Fed Ex, and other package delivery companies. Amazon would love to cut its operating costs by flying their own packages instead of paying UPS and others to do it for them. Amazon, the second most valuable company in the world (trailing only Apple Inc), is putting together its own air force to dominate yet one more business market. Since permits and
This is why so many people mock self-righteous media: check the facts, people
🤣🤣🤣 @CBSNews tweets a 2014 photo of a voter deriding @senatemajldr McConnell and claims that it happened today in Louisville. #verify #factsmatter https://t.co/aFOG3jt7No— Terry Meiners (@terrymeiners) November 7, 2018 The twitter administrator for CBS News was duped by a 2014 photo of a voter named Joe Conroy giving a THUMB DOWN signal behind Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell at their polling place. CBS reported that it happened today, November 6, 2018. And that's the way it wasn't. The Courier-Journal reported on the quirky moment on a day that Mitch McConnell trounced Alison Lundergan Grimes to roll into his sixth term as a U.S. Senator from Kentucky. Don’t drone on about slow delivery
UPDATE -- Mark Sheehan on the expansive growth of drone use strategies and potential (December 2018) CBS News magazine 60 Minutes interviewed Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos who projects that drones will deliver packages within 5 years. The Louisville area has two Amazon fulfillment centers and the primary UPS air freight hub, which would be threatened by Bezos' vision. Stay tuned.
