WHAS will crack triple digits next summer when Kentucky’s first commercial radio station turns 100
It's still a year away but WHAS Radio will turn 100 on July 18, 2022. WHAS was Kentucky's first licensed radio station. What a wild trip it's been! 🎧 current WHAS audio:  morning show, mid-morning, afternoons 🎧  historical audio Here's what WHAS-TV dug up in its video vault to note the radio station's 95th birthday in 2017. The Courier-Journal and Louisville Times Company obtained the broadcast license in 1922 and built a studio near the newspaper facility. This fall, current WHAS Radio owner iHeart Media will move the studio operations from Bishop Lane in the Newburg area back to downtown. WHAS has enjoyed a fantastic array of broadcast talent over the past century. The station has won prestigious awards for news coverage, emergency operations
Bob Baffert “I would never risk my reputation (by cheating)…it’s BS.”
First it was sabotage. Then a possibility of ingested urine soaked hay. Or was it a bit of cough syrup left by a careless groom? Jimson weed accidentally mixed in the feed? No wait...it's CANCEL CULTURE! 🤔 "I think it was just a knee jerk, cancel culture kind of reaction. They violated my due process..." -@BobBaffert on the statement released by @ChurchillDowns @KentuckyDerby pic.twitter.com/AE5kom6YlQ — Dan Patrick Show (@dpshow) May 10, 2021 Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert has been running through an endless stream of excuses as to how his Kentucky Derby winning horse Medina Spirit failed a post-victory drug test. Medina Spirit tested for an excessive amount of betamethasone, an anti-inflammatory. Baffert was baffled. He said that his team does not use that drug.

While other cities recover from the pandemic, Louisville’s untreated anarchy delays its comeback
These videos display Louisville's top impediment to the post-pandemic Build Back Better plan. Hordes of screaming protesters continue to block traffic, destroy property, and ignore police commands to allow traffic to move freely. This activity creates economic stagnation for Louisville as other peer cities slowly work to recover from the pandemic. Why would anyone choose to do business in Louisville if they cannot feel safe or comfortable about a peaceful future here? In 2021 after the conviction of a Minnesota police officer for choking George Floyd, Black Lives Matter protests are still highly active in many American cities. Lawlessness is essentially tolerated by Louisville city leadership, leaving LMPD to absorb abuse from protesters. Police officers must gently line up to encourage

There’s only one GOAT – and it’s Larry Bird
Larry Bird is the greatest American sports star ever. Come at me. Read his story. His mom couldn't properly care for him during his early life. His dad killed himself. He immersed himself in basketball to make the miserable noise of his home life go away. Larry and his mom got to a better place later in life. As for basketball...you know the rest. Since the editing tool on this web editor clipped Larry's head in the top photo, here is the entirety of my most treasured celebrity interaction. At the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013, I was departing a brunch and jumped on an escalator. I could feel that someone was right behind me. I turned to see Larry Bird towering
A Cockpit View On Final Approach to LAX and Chicago, Aer Lingus Departs San Francisco
Here's Air France flying a Boeing 777 into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on a visual approach to runway 24 Right. Terrific graphics and excellent sound allows the viewer to observe the pilots at work running through the landing checklist while acknowledging vectors in one of America's busiest airports. If you can forgive the shaky camera work, this is a great look at a crew taking another Boeing 777 into Chicago O'Hare Airport (ORD) runway 10 Center. The person holding the camera is doing the best they can but it should be noted that the passengers aren't shaking this vigorously on approach and after landing. This is an excellent pre-flight operations peek aboard an Aer Lingus Airbus 330 as the crew preps
Jelly Journalist War: one man’s tweet is another man’s moralizing rebuke crusade. Meanwhile, more diseases are sprouting. Can we focus on real news?
🔥 Journalists cannibalizing each other is becoming common practice in the prestige motivated grandstanding realm. (See: Courier Journal woke writers vs WAVE3 headline authors). Today's top clickbait sport for newby activist journos is torching colleagues. WTTG/Washington news anchor Blake McCoy tweeted his thoughts on obese people getting COVID vaccinations ahead of some "essential workers." His bosses at WTTG have suspended the anchor for his tweet, even though McCoy deleted it and issued a subsequent apology. The twitter mob, always searching to scorch non-woke speech, mobilized quickly to take down McCoy. But then there's this guy...a fellow journalist whose twitter feed has been non-stop trashing McCoy as if his insensitive message is the only news item in the universe. I smell jelly, Chris Weidmer. Weidner,
