It's no secret that NBC's Saturday Night Live leans left. It's writing crew has tagged Republicans with fake phrases (faux George W. Bush: "strategery" and faux Sarah Palin: "I can see Russia from my house!") to burden their intellectual standing. But when SNL's current idol Barack Obama stumbled mightily in the first 2012 presidential debate, it left the comedy show writers stymied. DETAILS Of course, not every comedy writer is a Liberal, although the breakdown can be likened to the familiar political split of the 99% versus the 1%. Larry Estep posted this 1987 video of me following up on Louisville Magazine's readers choice awards. Somehow, little Seneca Park's public golf course was picked ahead of Valhalla Golf Club. Valhalla was one year old at the time and not yet the legendary home of the USA Ryder Cup team's Kentucky-fueled 2008 victory, or Tiger Woods' enthralling 2000 PGA Championship. Seneca is still a great place for inexpensive public course golf, but Valhalla is now a gem on the PGA circuit.

Jerry Seinfeld's weasel friend was infuriated by an insult and it took him days to come up with an appropriate response. The president's delayed responses to Mitt Romney's debate tutorial have been fodder for Twitter barbs.

Greg Meiners and Terry Meiners flank Green Bay Packers fans in Indianapolis. Once again, the Packers lost at the very end of a game they seemed to have in hand.

Yum Brands chairman and CEO David Novak, center, held his annual Louisville fundraiser for hunger relief, collecting about $400,000 for World Food Programme. That money will buy 1.5 million meals for some of the poorest people on Earth. Novak was recently honored by the U.S. State Department for directing his company to provide community service worldwide. Thus far, Yum Brands has generated over $115 million for global hunger relief efforts. The theme to this October 6, 2012 fundraiser was "60s Flashback Ball." It was grooooooovy, baby.
